To self-publish a podcast as a travel writer, you will need to follow these basic steps:
Choose a topic: Decide on a specific niche or theme for your podcast, such as a particular country or region, a type of travel, or a specific aspect of travel, such as budget or sustainable travel.
Record and edit your episodes: Use a good quality microphone and recording software to record your episodes, then edit them to remove any background noise or errors.
Create artwork and show notes: Design artwork for your podcast and create show notes for each episode, including a brief summary and any links or resources mentioned in the episode.
Choose a hosting platform: There are several platforms you can use to host your podcast, such as Soundcloud, Anchor, and Libsyn. These platforms will provide you with a RSS feed that you will use to submit your podcast to directories such as iTunes, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.
Promote your podcast: Once your podcast is live, you’ll want to promote it to your audience through social media and email marketing. You can also reach out to other travel bloggers or podcasters and ask them to share your podcast with their audience.
