Free Icons ideal for authors
I was looking for some royalty free icons to incorporate into my How to Write a Travel Guide series, to help readers navigate through the sections within the self-publishing book I’m writing, and I cam across Flaticon.
They have a fabulous selection of black and white and color icons available to download, you just need to credit the illustrator when you use them.
You don’t need to log in, just search for the icons you want to download, and save them to your collection, and then when you’ve finished collecting the icons you want to use, just choose the image format you want, and then download your collection of icons.
I downloaded my icons in .png format, because I wanted a transparent background. I’m incorporating them into an e-book, and if I downloaded them as a white background they would look odd if my readers changed the page color of their e-reader to anything other than white.
If you’re struggling to find simple and intuitive icons to illustration a document, presentation, blog post, website, or e-book – look no further than flaticon.
