What’s happening at the Travel & Adventure Show?
It’s not just tourist boards and companies promoting what they have to sell. Located right on the show floor and included with your ticket, are dozens of seminars on four separate stages that will help you with your next travel experience.
Travel Theater
- See the full line up of speakers, including Rick Steves, Samantha Brown and Pauline Frommer.
Destination Theater
- Learn where to go, what to do, how to get there and more in these destination-specific seminars
Savvy Traveler Theater
- The Savvy Traveler Theater provides you with actionable travel advice from the top experts in the industry. From packing in a carry-on for 2 weeks and the latest travel technology, to budget travel tips and how to trace your lineage through heritage travel, you’ll learn how to maximize your next trip.
I’m looking forward to the carry-on tips for a 2 week travel adventures. I’m taking MOH for a surprise 2 weeks trip somewhere in Europe in April/May, and I’ve let him know that we are only taking carry on. He’s not happy! But I’m really looking forward to some smart packing. I’ve schedule four destinations, and we’re traveling between them on the train, so that last thing I want is to be humping big suitcases or backpacks through these European cities — let’s hope he’s not reading this, or else he’ll start trying to guess where we’re going!
Global Beats Stage

I went to the show in 2017, and it was a full day of attending the Travel Theater presentations. I got to chat with Pauline Frommer about travel guides, and the PR team on the Lonely Planet Booth were informed and enthusiastic about the Lonely Planet brand and their new magazine. I also attended the Long Beach Travel show the year before, and Rick Steves is a regular speaker at these events.
For a travel writer, this Travel Show is an inspiring and entertaining event. So if you’re in the vicinity of Los Angeles in February, head on down to the Travel and Adventure show to get your fill of the world, and get inspired about your next book or blog post.

Looks like a really good show.
I haven’t been to a travel show before, but I think I’m going to have to change my mind for the next one.
Los Angeles is my dream holiday destination – did you write a travel guide about it?
