Authors do you need some Social Media Prompts?
Are you getting bored with social media or stuck in a social rut? Don’t worry, it happens to us all.
Social Media is an invaluable tool for authors, but sometimes you just need a little bit of inspiration or change in approach, to reinvigorate your engagement. So I've put together a list of 26 Social Media prompts to inspire authors to connect with your readers via your favourite social network.
I'm drip-feeding these onto this blog over the next few months, so as not to overwhelm you with too many ideas. This first episode covers the letters A-F.
How To Use These Prompts
Each person trying to use Social Media to build their brand has different goals, so there's no way to offer a one-size-fits-all solution to using it to help you connect and build your audience. So I've put together a series of prompts to inspire your thoughts and idea, and they're all written in the form of a question, to get you to delve into your motivations and come up with a solution that would be a best fit for you, your goals, and your audience.
For example, for the letter A - I ask, are you giving your audience what they need? Which begs the question - do you even know what they need? If you don't already know who your core audience is, and what their challenges and problems are, then how will you know what you're trying to solve? Remember, being a content creator isn't about you, it's about your audience. Even if you have a product or service you're trying to tout or sell, your content needs to focus around providing a solution, or informing, inspiring, or educating them.
As with any prompt, it's best to freewrite on it to generate ideas. So set a timer for 20 minutes, and freewrite the questions that pop into your head, and/or capturing the answers you want to explore.
